Hello to all: I have recently joined after purchasing a 1983 CB1000C. I am currently working on it to make it extremely roadworthy and reliable. It was running when I bought it, but being it is 40 years old, it seemed like it could use some spa days. . I am in the process of of changing all fluids (engine oil and filter, two speed gearbox, final drive, brake fluid) and the suspension fluid is next. I have installed new tires (Dunlop) which were mounted and balanced by the local dealer. I have repaired a leak in the exhaust (top left muffler was rusted completely through and previous repair was a clamp and some muffler putty). I am in the process of of adjusting the valve clearance and rebuilding the carburetors. A good deal of time has been spent cleaning and polishing which shows a major improvement. Hopefully it will be back on the road in a couple of weeks. I had a 1982 CB900C in the middle 80s but was unfortunate to lose it in an accident. I have been riding for over 60 years starting on a Moped, then to a 1956 Harley Hummer and on to the first of many Hondas, a 1966 Honda Trail 90. A 1965 Honda 305 Super Hawk was next (which I also lost to an accident). After many years and motorcycles including dirt bikes (XR350R and XR600R), I returned to street riding on a 1999 BMW K1200LT and then returned to Honda on a 2008 Goldwing. After many improvements to the Goldwing, I sold it after retirement (it was just too big and heavy and just too expensive to sit the majority of the time) three years ago. But I needed a motorcycle in the garage that I can ride when I want and look at it when I am not riding. I really liked my 82 CB900C and just love the sound of the big DOHC 4-cylinder Honda motorcycles with the 4 into 4 exhausts, so I purchased the 83 CB1000C. Hopefully, the start of a beautiful love story.

I live in the southwest corner of North Dakota (where I grew up) after spending my working career in the Denver, CO area.

This site and the people on it are a wonderful resource and a veritable fount of information.

Thanks for sharing and allowing everyone to benefit from the collective wisdom and experience. |

Thanks for the welcome to the site. I have heard of the Koppinger family but do not personally know anyone. I have attached a few pictures of the WIP (work in progress). I have more photos but my lack of technical knowledge seems to be limiting me to attaching 3. |

The 'bronze' color scheme is my favorite . |
