Hi everyone, I’m new to DOHC motorcycles and this forum so please bear with me. Basically I am converting a 1979 CB750L to a cafe racer, and I switched all of the lights to LED’s. Everything is working great except my oil pressure light won’t turn off after the bike is running. I have enough oil in the bike, I bought a new oil pressure switch, and I cranked the motor over with the switch out of the bike resulting in oil shooting out (confirming I have oil pressure). After looking at my wiring diagram, I see the ground wire to the oil pressure warning light runs into the stop light warning unit. With this being said, do I need a resistor in the wiring somewhere, or can I get a stop light warning unit that’s compatible with LED’s to solve my problem? I switched the original flasher unit to an LED compatible one so the turn signals work perfectly. Any help would be great! Thanks!

The wire to the oil pressure sensor is shorting out somewhere. (the sensor is closed to ground and opens the ground when the oil pressure light is supposed to go out) Check where it goes through the starter cover (not stator cover), that's the usual culprit. Some e-tape on the worn spot can fix it. You'd have to cut and splice the cable to use shrink tubing...
