Hi Gang, I am new and have read the rules. I recently purchased a 1981 Honda CB900Custom and in trying to find parts I was wondering if the CB900 C shares the same frame with other model CB for Honda? It will open up a whole other path to locate things like crash bard / engine guards etc... Thank you, Lou Grossi

That's harder to answer than you might think.

There are very few OEM body/frame parts that will directly transfer between the CB DOHC models.

But... there are/were a handful of companies that made accessories (like crash guards) for our bikes. And those accessories tend to be fairly "universal" in that they are made to fit more than one model.

So are you looking for original Honda parts, or aftermarket?

Welcome here wave

I guess you missed the part in the rules about what to put in your signature???

The cb900c frame is the oddball and is different than all others, except for the cb1000c, which was basically the next version of the same bike.

The 900c frame is longer (room for the sub transmission) and has some things in different places as well as having a completely different swingarm arrangement and mount for it.

All the 750 variants had the same basic pipe frames, but then had tabs and mounts in different places for each model.

All 900 and larger frames are also a bit taller, as 900 and larger motors are 1/4" taller than the 750 motors.
