I know my server is across a big body of water in maine

I know my acer is getting tired

but

is this what sex at 70 is gonna be like, all wait , no satisfaction?

is this the server or is it my life style?

It's faster today than it was yesterday. It was so slow yesterday that I'd load up a few tabs and go do the laundry, then come back to see if any of them went through. Getting a reply box was torture. Hitting submit was even worse.

We need to get away from Yahoo. Evil or Very Mad

Are you out in the sticks and have no access to DSL? I had to do 2 way satellite broadband for years until I moved. Even distant storms would send the modem into slow & unresponsive mode. Kind of like my ex now that I think of it.

My uncle lives 7 miles out of town, and gets his internet over a wifi network. They use High gain yagis and dishes to use regular wifi over the terrain, and network from ranch to ranch, passing out ip addresses all along the way in a ring network. Fairly cheap, and dependable. Each one has a UPS on it good for several hours too.

the province of nova scotia is supposed to have high speed access by 2009, unless the the world ends before then

I live in the barrens of the north.

stuck between rivers that flow uphill , twice a day

and the cold atlantic waters

It's been slow John and still is. And I'm on high speed and have brand new hardware. So, it's not just you.

You have bigger gerbels than I do I guess cause it's brutally slow for me, home and at work. I checked for knots in the wires too and there are none. BTW, no other website I visit is slow. John and I must have economy memberships.

I'm getting 2 second loads, it doesn't get much better than that.

Replies always take longer.

9-10 seconds is too long, it should be instantaneous.
But, I am happy with the speed of the site again today.

you have to take into account your location and the amount of traffic on your main line. you can be on T1 and get slowed if you have too much traffic. mid day along the east coast in the middle of the week....hmmmmm, think there might be some traffic?
i know the donkey that hauls our internet down the road is running slower than it might for more urban areas. we were supposed to go fiber years ago through the state, but the company involved went tits up and we have been sucking that back tit ever since. Confused
