Hi everyone, I'm Javier from Mexico.
It seems I got here in the right moment because I got my old '82 CB900C back from a bad mechanic shop and I'm going to work by myself on it to get it running in no time, it seems that it will be a lot easier thanks to this community.
I've been reading a lot of posts here, got barely 4 hours of sleep because all the reading of the posts I looked to, they were so interesting.
I'll upload some pics of my bike when it gets more good looking lol
Thank you for this excellent site.

Thank you for the welcome!
lol I don't think I'll post pics, maybe next week, it's embarrasing because now looks like an oil fountain (head leaks, fork leaks), and it's really really dirty. |

Ok, I have some pics to show the horror story I'm about to begin... again. I've spent like $2100 USD... to get on this??? I'm starting to desperate, my mechanic is a complete jackass!! I think the "Want something right? Do it yourself!" totally applies.
As you can see, it "runs" on pods (those are half sealed with electrical tape courtesy of my mechanic), airbox is torn appart because boot #4, air filter & side caps are missing, the battery cage is all bent & broke, electrical harness is a mess and it spills oils like hell... ok... let's start then!

That's quite a project you have!
I'd start by removing the main wiring harness and seeing what's actually there. Lay it out and see what connectors are missing or broken. Make sure any splices are done well and not loosey goosey. Once the electrics are straightened out, move on to the motor.
We have the factory wiring diagrams in the tech docs section here. And Frank has a picture of a harness all layed out with all the connectors labeled. |
