New Guy Here

I'm new to this forum, but I've had my 1979 CB750K for about a year now. I'm an electrical engineer from the Atlanta GA area (Marietta specifically). I'm attempting to convert the bike into more of a cafe style, and it's going well so far, except the carbs are giving me issues. I'm not a mechanical guy by nature, so I'm having to learn as I go.

I'm considering buying these to install (see below link). Anybody here had any experience or knowledge with this layout/seller? Trust me, I've done my hw on the CV carbs, so I understand the issues with the stock carbs and their infamous pod problems. All I want is a nice set of reliable, low maintenance, fuel-efficient carbs to install on a commuter bike. I'd love to convert to EFI, but I haven't been able to dig up a reasonably priced system that may not force me to completely change my charging system.

If you haven't read the new members thread now is the time and if you have then cheers.

You might want to search Mikuni. Some guys run them as well as the CR's. You will find that has been discussed more than a few times regarding different sizes and such.

Welcome to the site Jon ... Smile

No one on this site has tried that set up , as far as I know .

There have been those that have tried other two into one set ups and have returned to CV or CR or other carbs .

You could give your noted set up a shot and let us know how they work out . Wink

On the other hand , you could simply run the stock set up and have some money left for holiday jovials .

i designed and build that kit speedmotoco is my only

dealer for it other than myself i live about 3.5 hrs from

you if you want come down sometime and ride the setup

i have a bike with them on around i use it to setup and

run the carbs on before shipping them

i bought an oil filter adapter for my cx build from murary works great a good craftsmanship. he gets praise on the cx forum for the carb setup he builds for the cx. so i am sure they will run great. without riding one of the bikes i can not comment on performance compared to the four carb setup. if i were you i would take that offer of riding his bike and give us your feedback on how the bike runs. when the the stock carbs are right with the factory air box and the carbs rebuilt and cleaned and no air leaks there great. my 823 bike runs like a scalded dog. i would like to know how well his carbs do so do not forget and leave us some feed back. he knows his shit on the 2 carb set up from what i have heard

Thanks for the kind welcome and thoughts, as well as a nice invitation from Murrayf. I still haven't decided what I want to do, so I'm going to keep researching and let you guys know what I decide.
