I've come to really appreciate the distraction from my personal life that this site provided, and I've met some really nice people here. I know I have some parts people were interested in, but the last few weeks, I've had less and less time for bikes.
On September 9th, 2008 my father and very best friend passed away. I just don't have any ... interest at all in working on, or looking at bikes right now.
Thank you all for keeping me company, and keeping me busy the last few months. |

So sorry for your loss.
I have to say... that is so cool that your Dad was your best friend. He must have been so proud. |

How do you articulately write about someone hours after they have passed? While we failed to portray how much we thought of and appreciated my father, you can view his obituary here:
http://www.bauerfuneralhome.com/viewObit.php?oID=432
I know some of you are into aviation. If you have any ideas on how to track down the plane he built, please pass it on. It would be nice memorial to have it back in the hanger... |

Holy frig Andy. That could not have been easy. Be proud of him and who you are because of him. He's not gone. He'll always be with you and some day you will see him again. |

If you know the registration that it was under when he owned or built it than go on the FAA website and do a registration search, you should be able to see the changes in registration.
or call the FAA
good luck man! |

Andy, I think you'd need either the tail number or serial number to track down the plane. It appears that the name "Starduster Two" is not in itself unique but rather sort of a limited ( and very cool) kit plane or perhaps a shared concept.
I've also posted to a close friend here who is heavily involved in aviation to see if he has any information.
Be well my friend..... |

Here ya go, really easy site, the Canadian version sucks. Let us know if you track it down, that is a really cool memorial idea!
Prayers |

Andy, I am sorry for your loss. My dad died the same age as yours, but in 1993 and I still see him everywhere I look... especially in my children. I am sure you will as well. It gives comfort to think that the memories live long after the body passes.
Peace to you and yours. |

I figured I'd resurrect my old thread to help me remember people that are still here. I've forgotten all of your real names, with exception of the unforgetable Ray lol. I actually touched a bike today, for more than just moving it around, for the first time since I left. I'm not sure what I'll be doing, but I still have my 900F project that I started 2 years ago. It's amazing what you forget when you completely walk away from stuff. I found a bunch of boxes of NOS parts and carb kits that I have absolutely no idea what they go to.
Ray, are you still building engines? I'm half tempted to strap my 900 to a crate and send it your way for a thorough rebuild. |
