and i gotta say it's better than any tech manual i could read. i think i've logged about a 100 hours already reading posts from different topics.

here's the specs...
originally from florence, SC. joined the navy at 18 and spent 10 years globe trotting as an Aviation Ordnanceman and Aircrewman aboard P3C Orions. Got out after ten years when the navy turned into a job instead of an adventure. been maried to the same woman for 20 years...don't know what she sees in me...certainly not my looks, money, or ability to obey the law. Have son that a junior in HS and a daughter that a freshman at Embry Riddle Aeronaticl U in Daytona Beach. Been working for Ma Bell for the last 8 years as an elec tech in Hendersonville, NC. Never owned any other bike other than a Honda...see no reason to change.

I know this is probably too much info, but you never know when you'll meet someone with a common past, present, or future.

T

Well Troy, you are home now.
We here at DOHC Customs are all family no matter where we hail from.
We have a common bond, the 79-83 DOHC Honda be it a Custom, a K-Model, an Nighthawk, LTD or a Super Sport {and we cannot forget the CBX as well even if it has two extra cylinders Wink }
I wish you were here with your Ma Bell truck to install the fiber optic lines we were supposed to get two years ago so I could have true high speed DSL instead of the express service they give me.
Keep on posting even if it is just BS and the next thing you know, everyone will know who you are.
If you need any help with your Honda, you could not be in a better place.

Hey Troy....I was through Hendersonville twice last Sunday....once on the way up to Waynesville (Wheels through Time) from Gaffney, SC and then again after coming down 276 through Brevard.

Welcome to the site Troy ... Smile

Talk about Brevard ... I'll never forget Brevard ... We took a room there for the night when honeymooning thru the South .

It was dark when we booked and we were tired . When we woke I pointed to the wall in the bathroom ... There was a settling crack between the cider blocks almost an inch wide . Who knows how many different critters could fit thru ... LOL

We slept pretty good tho ... Smile

thanks yall,

ray--not sure how it works on the left coast, probably the same over here, but dsl is limited to 18000 ft from your closest central office, thats with 22ga wire...anything smaller and the signal/sync will deteriorate.

d-day--good thing you didnt come this past weekend...Hendersonville Apple Fest was in full swing.....apples and assholes as far as the eye could see.

talk about critters...i found a opposum in my office on the second floor last summer..still don't know how it got in...must have kept its key card in its pouch....i have pictures of me chasing it thru the office if anyones interested.

Welcome to the forums. These are some good folks and they are very helpful and knowledgeable.

I'd like to see pictures of someone chasing a possum through their office. That sounds funny.

I am just 2 miles from the DSL router or what ever it is called. That is just under 11,000 feet and I am not a happy camper. I used to live 350 feet from it at my last address and had lightening fast DSL service.
In my neighborhood now, all we have is so called DSL Express service, not true high speed.
But, what ever, I get my point across like this and downloads take a little while longer than they used to. Rolling Eyes

Like I said earlier, you are home now.
Welcome to our world.

My house in TX was less than half a mile from the CO, but the reflectometer showed 15,000 feet of wire. Proximity is not necessarilly what you think it is. I still managed to get almost 1.5 x 384 though.
