Ok I would be 750Chops wife. I was hoping you guys can teach me a thing or to so I can help him with the bike. I do now but he has to walk me through everything. I helped him wire it but first he had to teach me how to even read the wiring diagram. So I am ready to hear what you have to teach me.

Welcome Mrs. Chop! You might try someone that does paintless hail damage repair, if it is not too bad. They have special tools to reach inside tight places and work the dent out from the inside.

well, Mr. Chop hasnt shown us the picture of the infamous "dent", but if it isnt too big or on a corner, it may be able to be popped out with compressed air or with the proper tool. if all else fails, you may have to just sand down that part of the tank and fill the dent with bondo. of course, you could always glue some nice pink flowers over the spot, everyone likes that feminine touch of flowers on their motorcycle.....trust me on this!!! Wink

like he would admit if i was better at fixing bikes then him hahaha.....the flowers may not go over so well but i might have to try that...im ready to be more then just another skirt hanging out in the shop i wanna fix shit too....the wiring was kinda fun

i really do like workin on the bike. kinda make me a little nervous when im wearing a skirt or tank top the guys that were helping are now looking up or down something. so gotta be careful of that. and yes i was there working on the bike at 3am

i am not ready for my own bike. hell his bike intimidates me just sitting on it. so i am hoping working on them and understanding how they work i will get over that. i love the bikes. they are so much fun and the center stand is very handy!

I think i am gonna start her on a 250 thumper cafe racer project of mine. If she cant stand the ergonomics on it she wont be able to deal with a cbr. With the right gearing and all she will probably be able to keep up with me. Now to find a six speed xr250 engine...wonder if a CR250 punched out with 10.5 and breathed on porting would be too wild for a beginner on the street.... Twisted Evil

This is the girl who's first time on an atv resulted in a wheelie through 1-2 shift and a sullen look when she came back and the remark of "i dont think im doing it quite right..." mercy on my equipment when she gets it right! (im gonna regret saying that...someone is gonna quote it i know it)

Dont let it be too intimidating. Just cruise down the driveway or what have you a little bit. Get used to low speed handling. Thats what gets alot of folks plus knowing that lowspeed handling by touch and feel teaches a rider kind of a respect for how much the bike still weighs when at speed. You cant escape its mass no matter how fast you go. Its sort of hard for me to explain but i learn the most about a new bike just playing in a parking lot.

(actually I am in the market for a GS500e with paperwork...last one i found was umm ambiguous...)

my GF is scared of the prospect of riding, especially one of my bikes. she is 5'3" and not the resilient hard body she was as a kid, so the thought of dumping the bike or worse doesn't thrill her too much. i mean....whats a little pain, anyway? Laughing

i was hoping to get her to ride so we could do road trips together. at my size, and the way i ride, i would just as soon ride single on a bike, but want her to come along. oh well, what do you do? Rolling Eyes
