Hey gang,

Just got my first CB750! I’ve been wanting to build one for a while and finally have some flexibility to do so. I’m completely new to to everything motorcycles - riding and wrenching. I’ve worked on cars, done some auto cross, and messed a few things up, but nothing with a motorcycle yet.

I’m excited to start peeking around. I bought a 79 in really great shape. It’s definitely in pieces, but has had a ton of engine work done - full head job, pistons replaced and cylinders bored. A ton of new stuff came with it as well. Brat seat, gasket sets, speciality tools, etc. The guy I bought it from was fantastic. He just ran out of time for this project.

If anyone is from the STL area or the St. Louis Metro area let me know. If you have shop connections that might prove useful. Excited to be in the community! Looking forward to getting to know some folks and building this bike!

Welcome

I'm right across the river in IL.

Which 750 do you have? There were 3 models sold in '79 in the states: K, LTD, and F. You can check the nameplate on the neck if you don't know.

I’m actually in Collinsville. I have a 1979 cb750k 10th anniversary edition. Where are ya in IL? I’m going to probably need some help along the way!

Oh, we're practically neighbors then! I'm in Caseyville. About a minute away from the Dairy Haven on 157.

I'm happy to help. Send me a private message if you need anything.

Also, please add your exact model to your signature. These bikes are largely the same, but there are some subtle differences. And when you're troubleshooting and asking questions, it really helps the rest of us to know which one you've got.

I’m also new and am from Trenton; it’s nice to see some other folks from the area.
