Hey,
I just bought a pair of 1983 CB750's to hopefully restore one to running condition. One had a cracked oil pan and seized engine, it will be a donor of parts as needed. The other started briefly after an oil change and gas. It needs a lot of cleaning. So far I have rebuilt the carbs and am currently working on the front disc brakes. Thanks for the warning about pod filters, I thought it may be an easy way to avoid cleaning out the air box. I need to replace all of the turn signals as the rubber is all rotted and they just hang off the sides. My dad used to work on motorcycles and will be helping me with the rebuild.

/\ - I'm not sure exactly what that is, but it's not a 1983 DOHC cb750sc Nighthawk.

Looks like maybe a 83-85 650 dohc motor, but it's not the same as one of ours.

you are correct, I found the model sticker on the bike, it is a CB650SC 1983. Which is a little disconcerting as the title says 750... Confused

Check the title to make sure you have a VIN number match...

Well, VIN matches. is there a carfax for motorcycles? I'm guessing it is just a typo.

Easy enough to mis-type 750 instead of 650.

You should probably check with your local DMV. There's bound to be a way to correct the title. I know there is here in IL. Or if you haven't transferred it to your name yet, you can probably fix it at that time.

The petcock was leaking gas, I'm going to replace it with one that does not use vacuum. I posted a short video of it starting and running on just the fuel left in the float bowls. After filming I realized I had forgot to plug the vacuum hose and two of the carbs had a gas leak from the drains in the float bowl.

On our bikes the petcock isn't automatic, it's just manual. There isn't a vacuum hookup to our petcocks, but there is a separate automatic fuel valve that is operated by vacuum from carb #2.

This is why we are model specific. We know most about our bike models, and may have to guess about others.
