Hey all. I have made a couple of other posts on here previously, but thought that I should make a post in here.
I've been into motorcycles since I was about 10 (am now 30) and have had various bikes over the years, both street and dirt. I started learning to work on bikes by talking to my grandpa and using the manual to rebuild an old CB125 that I had.
I just bought a 1980 CB750k for $350. Looking forward to fixing it up a bit. I was told that there was an issue with the charging system so i'll be diving into that and fixing a leak that I found around the shift shaft that comes out of the left case. The bike needs a few other things but is all there.
I've already gained a ton of knowledge from the existing posts and I look forward to learning even more from you all.
Here's a pic of the ole' girl when I picked her up.

Thanks. It's too bad that fairing is beat up a little bit. The right side where it mounts is broken almost completely out. I haven't decided if I want to attempt to plastic weld it back together or just try and sell it as is. Either way I don't want it on the bike.
As for restoring or making it something else. I haven't really decided. Initially I wanted to make it a brat/tracker, but I haven't really made up my mind on that. I'm gonna work on getting her running and go from there. Still need to check valve clearance, change oil, get a new front tire on and just give it an overall good look over. The PO used car oil in it... ... I guess he doesn' t know what a wet clutch is. Luckily though, he said he never rode it after he changed the oil. |

Oh and I need to rebuild the forks....pretty sure there is no oil in them....AT ALL! Compress them and let off and they bounce on the springs pretty good. I'm pretty sure that's all the resistance there is in them is the spring. |

Thanks for the info guys. I have saved those links to my favorites for further reference. Hopefully I can get busy on it tomorrow. |
