Hi all,

I just pulled an '81 CB750c and a '75 CB500T out of a garage, the old "they've been sitting too long, taking up space, they need to go (and I just had a kid, my wife wants to kill me over them, etc).

Anyway, they're both in decent shape and I'm good on the mechanical side of things. What I don't know (and need help on) is part interchanges on the 750 (especially fuel system related, the tank is *shot*, as is the petcock and vaccuum valve).

I'm sure I'll find where to search and ask questions, but figured it'd just be polite to say hello.

Justin

Welcome. Vacuum valve is no big loss imo. It will work without it. Just plug vac port on carb 2.

Hi DOHC_CBs and Welcome

Please take a minute and add you DOHC bike to your signature. Instructions can be found on the homepage under the new members Thread. It does help. Smile Also while you are at it if your could add you state and city to your location that would be nice as well. We are not affiliated with the FBI, NSA or IRS among others Laughing I hate 3 letter acronyms like that.

Good for you for saving the bikes. Please feel free to search away and ask any questions you need.

I was updating all the profile/signature/forumy stuff after this was up!

Pretty much the vacuum valve is gone (I already bypassed it) but the tank is shot. Not kinda shot, but dead. I searched then posted up about my tank swap/gas cap swap question.

That'll go a long way to getting the bike running, at which point I'll be able to get into making the bike right!

Justin
