Just got my 1979 CB750 10th anniversary ed! Nice bike - I'm lovin it.

It's in real nice shape - stock - 8K miles - runs great! The guy who sold it to me bought a Kawasaki KZ 1000 - fast bike!

Glad I found this forum.

The bike has the following issues:

1. Leaking fuel when parked - (am guessing float is stuck - so, will service carbs).
2. The decal on the right side cover starting to crack - wondering if there is anywhere I can pick one up or get this one repaired.
3. Rear tire a little dry-rotted and cracking - ordered a new Dunlop.
4. Very slight oil leak coming from cam gasket or seal - not sure which.
5. Seat has some minor splits in it - probably needs vinyl repair kit.

Any tips or pointers greatly appreciated! TIA

Welcome firebat. The other guys know more about your 750K/L so I'll let them have a go at you. Wink

I turned your post into your own thread.

Post up some pics of your ride!

Here is a place to see the pics - maybe there is a better way to do this:

See links below: received complaints about this link.

Those decals are great! I am ok mechanically, but I just know I'd screw them up if I'd try to remove the old crusty one myself. Any suggestions?

Also, is there any way to get that oxidation out of the aluminum?

TIA again for all the help!

The pic link works. It is to the upload service megaupload. You just download the zip file and the pics are in the zip file. You have to plug in the security code indicated then wait for about 60 seconds, then hit free download then upzip. Should work.

Try again and let me know if you can't get them!

Thanks!

All that will open are pages to join and register, or download the toolbar.

Sorry, I'm not really interested in joining any other websites..

We mostly all use photobucket for our pic, it works. I have hundreds of pics there, most of them linked to several forums, I'm not changing Wink

All I can say is I've been using megaupload for years and never had a problem, and, I also use McAfee. Megaupload is also a very popular upload site on many other sites, probably second only to rapidshare.

Anyhow, I deleted the megaupload link (certainly don't want to give anyone a virus) and put the photos on photobucket as per above suggestion.

Sorry if I caused anyone heartburn.

Not at all, just getting going up to speed here. Real nice lookin bike Wink

I saw the decal damage, too bad. Too much sun and rubbing compound probably. Fixable though. Some of the painters may chime in.

Thanks! I think I saw this one in a previous google search.

Now I just need to find someone to strip mine off and put the new ones on - I can do some mechanical work - but I'd make a mess with decals and paint Very Happy

Anyone on this board do this sort of work? I'd be happy to pay someone a fair price to do it?

Thanks to all for the great advice and help!

Talk to powerroy, he does good paint work at a very fair price and he will accept that work through the mail.
