Hello all,
Been a member for some time now, mostly just to read, learn, search, and check out cool pics. I'm taking to posting now because I'm getting pretty serious with my rig, and there are some questions even the search function can't find answers to.
So a big hello! I ride a 1981 CB750C, about 5700 miles on it, in mediocre shape, both cosmetic and mechanical. I've been taking care of the big problems first, namely:
-new tires
-changed oil, twice, and oil filter
-new spark plugs
-cleaned & re-tensioned chain
-patched gas tank, about 5,738,926,436,978 times
-new fuel filter
-new air filter
-new clutch cable
-cleaned and refilled brake cylinder, changed gasket
-wiring work (gotta love zipties)
-scrubbed out some rust and pined for better looks
Nothing major so far. BUT, I'm getting into slightly more involved territory, so I'm looking forward to posting questions and hearing back form this wonderful community.
If there are any riders in the NYC/ Staten Island area, I'd love to meet up!

I'm in New Dorp, allllllll the way down by the beach and Miller Field. Wreaks havoc on the rust situation, what with the salty air and wet weather. But I do have an advantage in that spot--instead of having to drive all the way around the field and back down towards the beach whenever I want to head north or to Brooklyn, I can ride the bike into the field towards the parking lot, fit between the guard rails, and be on my merry way. Drives my non-cyclist friends nuts whenever they try to follow me. |
