I am new to this wonderful world, and in need of any assistance!
I have inherited 2 Honda motorcycles.
#1 is a 1981 CB750C, rusty, but i can see major style and class!
#2 is a 1983 VF750C, Cosmetics are good, Carbs are destroyed. But again, Style!!!
they are not running, but I have fallen in love with these babies, Especailly the 81 CB750C and I desperately want them to purr..but, as usual, money is a an issue.
Any good places to get quality used parts, without donating plasma or bone marrow everyday?
Thanks! |

Hello and welcome,
I would think that your best option for inexpensive used parts is going to be ebay. You can also keep and eye out here as guys sell parts here too. Neiko might also have some parts that will work on the CB750C.
I have bought some stuff from this company to:
http://cb750partsdepot.com/main.sc
Also, you can find new stuff from authorized Honda dealers. Sometimes it is not as costly as you might think. Just enter your bike and see what comes up:
http://www.hdlparts.com/fiche_select2.asp?category=MOTORCYCLES&make=HONDA&year=1981&fveh=2981
As for how much you will spend, it is really dependent on how far someone wants to go with their project. Make sure to read SeanG's checklist in the new members section for the CB750C.
Not knowing why the bikes are not running leaves open the possibility that there could be something that is costly wrong with them.
Cheers and good luck!! |

Fortunately, i have a best friend who works on Honda Engines as his job, so we are going to tackle it as cost effective as possible. First, we will get the carbs cleaned on the 81, and get the motor running. If thats the case, then the cosmetic items can be taken care of in a matter of weeks.
Hopefully! |

Getting it running before dropping coin into the cosmetics sounds like a good plan.
Hopefully it is nothing to serious. |
