Most of yesterday it was fast, then slow, then time outs, then fast again. 3 or 4 times we were getting debug messages so I repaired the bbsessions and session tables to get the board back up. It would run for a while, and I'd come in and it would have the debug related to bbsessions again.
Then sometime around midnight my time, it went down for good. I tried to get in with phpMyAdmin, to take it offline, but couldn't even get a response.
Glenn had the same problem at the F site. Couldn't even get in to anything. |

from my experience the Yahoo hosting environment is crap. Move to another host. Heck, even godaddy. Have a number of clients that use godaddy for hosting with php/mysql scripted content management systems. Have not come across corrupted database tables like this.
Another one I like to use is asmallorange.com. Many of my sites are hosted there.
Also, when was the last time the forum software was updated to a more recent version? I can't see any clues in the html source code as to what version is running, but I suppose that's a good thing since it keeps the hacker guessing on which exploit to target. |

Gene. D-Day, Holysmokes, sorry, I've been away from my regular pc so I couldn't log in here to update you guys. Blackberry has limits. Yes, the DB servers were bouncing like rubber balls that was the issue.
Stever, godaddy sucks my lefty nut. I'm $$$ of dollars down because of them.
Please, make sure to check the twitter link listed when eiter site has issues. I'll try and update it whenever an issue arises. |

Thanks Glenn. It seems to be working quite well right now. Much faster and no error messages. 8) |

Your account "TAURUS66" is fine. You have already been sent a new password. Perhaps if you shared the error instead of just getting pissed we could help. |

All the passwords i have been sent give me the same error message when trying to log in, it is a bit difficult to share and error when you cant even login in the first place........
I had tried numerous times to login , reset the password, error, try again , error, try yet again , for the last few days i have been trying to get it right but even today it still gives me an error message..
User name or password incorrect................ |

I seem to get this quite a lot when it's taking ages to load pages.
Hadn't got it for a while until just now when I got it 4 times in a row:

I sometimes find restarting Firefox helps that. Also visit the home page then try going to the page you were after. I have complained to firefox numerous times about that one already. Maybe if you did too it might help. |
that looks more like Safari |

Except for this part:
That's cut from the dialog box above...
I (we) spent hours last weekend attempting to get a mirror of this site online, but ran into difficulty. We did actually manage to get an empty forum up, but getting our data in needs some help... slow and steady... we're on a steep learning curve here, but just like with these bikes, I have a very good teacher. |

On the good side... I went to a dinner party hosted by my 4th grade (and ever since) friend that is a database genius. really. certifiable Cal Tech Information Science major genius from the early '70s. But the dinner guests, besides myself, were writers. You know... TV, film, books, etc., writers from California.
The old man John, crap, he wrote on Star Trek, The Original Series, the first year, directly for Gene Roddenberry.
He also wrote Mr. Novak and a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember because I'm a tech dweeb.
It was a fun night for all of that, but we also did actually spend some time trying to get this site to run on a different server and try to discover what the hell is hanging us up.
More to follow.... |

Just got this when posting a reply to a thread:
Turns out it did actually post the reply so I ended up with duplicate posts - managed to delete the duplicate though. |
