I feel like I've just gone over to "the dark side", having been a member of the SOHC family since I first got my 1974 CB350F several years ago. However, I've gone and done it now that I picked-up a 1981 CB750K. I had sold my CB160 for a good price and found this DOHC for a bargain. It's in need of a cleaning and some work - stuck front brake and leaking header gasket; but I did ride it home and have started to get it together - and it's looking good. The first thing I did was to remove the rear carrier and backrest...this bike is for me to RIDE! (I already have a 2003 Goldwing to haul a passenger and carry baggage.)

The following is supposed to be a picture of it, as found...but I don't know if dis woks.

OK...so how did you fix it? Question

I read the link about how you are supposed to post images and I opened a Photobucket account just to do that. Then I clicked the "Img" button above the text entry box and pasted the image url that I had copied from Photobucket into the text after the IMG tag, but no picture? Question Question Question

In photobucket , copy the IMG code from the drop down of what ever pic you choose . Paste that code in the reply box here . You don't have to add the IMG here .

The url you had posted before was this:

[img]http://s972.photobucket.com/albums/ae210/hondanutrider/?action=view&current=81706j6_20.jpg[/img]

however, what you needed, and what Pete fixed it to was this:

[IMG]http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae210/hondanutrider/81706j6_20.jpg[/IMG]

For the image to work so the forum software can parse the url and display it, it needs to be a direct address to the image... no "[b]?action=view&current =bsbsbs.jpg[/b]" is allowed. That stuff came from the url entry bar. What you needed to copy was the "IMG Code" info under the thumbnail pic.

Hover over the pic in Photobucket so the text boxes appear, then select the text called "IMG Code" and copy with the "Control + C" command on the keyboard. Paste that code into the reply box in the forum software.

Thought I should post an update:

I completed the cleanup and repair of the front caliper. I also got the exhaust headers properly sealed with new gaskets so it really runs and sounds much better (without the leak). The other day I got the safety completed and the license fully registered. The only thing I needed to change were the red side markers on the Vetter - they can't be red at the front of a vehicle. I was able to get the identical ones in amber for only $12 and they actually look better. I've been riding it around a bit and really like the experience.

Here's a picture taken just before I took it in for the safety check - still had the red side marker lamps. And, I've also touched-up the side panel emblems with black paint, to make them look cleaner.

Nice Bike . Good work .

I changed your pic to a link as the pic is over the site limit of 640 x 480 .

You can have all your pics automatically resized to that size by photobucket at upload . Click (more options) in the UPLOAD IMAGES AND VIDEOS box . Just click on the LARGE (640x480) size designation and then SAVE . All your uploaded pics will be shown in that size when linked to .

Sorry about the size problem. I thought I had changed it to the 640X480 size.

Here's another shot that I'll try. It shows what the new amber side markers look like, as well as also displaying the better-looking emblems that I touched-up.
