I too notice that often the performance gets slower and slower over the course of maybe an hour, until almost nothing gets through, then it will stop altogether for a few minutes, then all of a sudden everything is dff with pages loading like the server was in the same room with me.
OK, so what do you got? |
I got that error message twice today already.
I also notice that the performance often slows progressively until the aforementioned error message appears. Then everything seems to be lightening quick again for a limited period. |

The two most common errors/glitches I run into include:
- The Yahoo "Sorry, Internal Server Error"
- When posting, I often get the unsuccessful message alert, but when I backup to the preview page, scrolling down I will usually find that my message has in fact taken successfully
When the system occassionally bogs down to glacial speed ... I simply sign off and try again later. |

Just got another 'Internal Server Error'
And I got this for a very long time first thing this morning (UK time):
"phpBB : Critical Error
Error doing DB query userdata row fetch
DEBUG MODE
SQL Error : 1016 Can't open file: 'nuke_users.MYI' (errno: 145)
SELECT u.*, s.* FROM nuke_bbsessions s, nuke_users u WHERE s.session_id = 'ba0f4401fdf250bbe5b0eca7602fe278' AND u.user_id = s.session_user_id
Line : 315
File : sessions.php"
Then this repeatedly a bit later:
"Sorry, but this board is currently unavailable. Please try again later." |

Yes, I woke up in the middle of the night and went to access the forum and got the debug message regarding "Can't open file: 'nuke_users.MYI". I then repaired the nuke_users table and then disabled the board, so I could make sure it was all in one piece. That's when you got the "Sorry, but this board is currently unavailable. Please try again later." message.
A few minutes later, after running analysis software on the rest of the database, I restored availability to the world, and it's been stable ever since. |

I've only been here for a couple of weeks. I've found that download speeds slow as with time till I have to log out and/or log back in or switch browsers.
Another phenomenon that doesn't happen on any other site is that when I view a link that takes me to a .pdf page/file, it doesn't load the whole thing - it loads a couple of pages and then stops and when I toggle down to the last loaded page or so, it loads a couple of pages more. So if I want to save the .pdf, I have to manually toggle to the end of the link/file in order to get the whole file downloaded and then do the save. This only happens with Adobe ,pdf files. |

I don't have any of the problems you guys seem to get. I think I can only recall having the "nuke" message once, otherwise the only problem I get is the odd slow loading pages. Most of the time everything is OK!
I run with Firefox. |

This was a new one, I thought it was funny
message_die() was called multiple times. This isn't supposed to happen. Was message_die() used in page_tail.php? |

The 11F site was down too, the server was attacked or taken offline is my assumption.
Lame! |

Best guess is slow/unresponsive MySQL server. Continual table repairs won't cure a bad server and could even cause further issues... |
