I got me a 1983 cb1000 custom and can't be happier. Does not run(despite I rode it home) and aside from some of paint flaking off the engine(and an oil leak out of the tach cable on the top of the engine) the bike is in amazing condition. It is brown and beautiful. It was my dad's bike but he never rode it and never fixed it so finally gave it to me. Very Happy

Welcome!

You must be real tricky to be able to ride a non-running bike home! 8)

gonna be a little while till I can get her back on the road. She has 59623 miles on the odometer, so some work is to be expected. Gonna need some parts as well. Looks like the rubber tubes going from the airbox to the carbs are splitting which would explain why It doesn't run. Gotta clean out the carbs, check the valves replace the upper valve cover gasket, and the tach cable, find out why the speedo is not working, and I would like to paint the engine.

hah its my new house with 2 garages. this one is an rv storage garage with a bathroom in it. It's been vacant for 3 years and this garage in particular shows it. Since I think RV's are lame I'm gonna cram about 15 bikes in it. I'm currently up to five, Including my new toy.
