Hi all, my names tony, I'm a 21 yr old college student. I picked up a 1981 CB750C last august for 900 bucks with 10k on the odo and havent looked back. While I bought the bike at the beginning of august, and there has only been about a month of decent riding weather (decent being a relative term) so far this year, I've already put 3000 miles on the bike and been to Deals Gap and back. I've had the carbs completely apart, changed and bled the whole brake system (all 2 calipers and one master cylinder lol) and changed the valve cover gasket as well as heli coiling one of the valve cover bolt holes that the PO stripped out.
so far teh bike is pretty close to stock with just an exhaust that the PO put on and a new set of bars that I put on.
I'm looking forward to all the help I know I'll get from this forum along my chosen path of restoration with a few tasteful mods, as well as maybe meeting a few riding buddies.

Welcome Tony!
One thing you did not mention is checking the valve shim gap. If you have not done that, STOP, and get on it.
The gap closes on these beasts and you might wind up with a burnt valve. |

checked those valve clearances and I actually have three that are over the clearance that's recommended. for now I'm not to worried about it but it's on the to do list along with find a stock or chrome exhaust and get my rear fender painted to match the tank |
