If you do some searches here, you will find numerous posts about the tools for valve adjustments, the procedure, how to install a valve cover gasket, and such.

The spec for the valve cover bolts is 6-9 ft lbs, I prefer to stay closer to the bottom of the torque spec. It is a shouldered bolt that will hard stop when it hits the end. Any tightening past that is just asking to break something. The bolts will be firm to turn compressing new seals, but you'll know it when the shoulder hits, stop there.

I take it you're asking about the valve cover bolts . If you have new bolt seals , just cut the old ones off with a sharp utility knife . BE CAREFUL . Wink

A bit of advice when you tighten the new vc gasket down. Take your time and do it carefully. I use a tiny screwdriver to make sure the gasket is sitting properly as I tighten the bolts down a little at a time all the way around. Each bolt a little bit and check the gasket for nice flat fit. Then I know its on right and won't over tighten anything. Smile
