OK, seems another problem has emerged due to last week's database problems. It seems that threads originated by members who registered between the last weeks of December and Feb 26th have been reassigned to new members who've registered after Feb 26th. Also, you might notice some Private Messages in your Inbox that were originally sent to one of those users. Might even have some in your Sent box

I think what has happened is that the messages created by that group of members lingered on unassigned to anybody in particular. Once a new member comes in and gets a user id number (you don't see these numbers, but yes, you are just a number to the database) if it's the same number previously assigned to a message from one of that group, your name pops into the message.

So no, there is NO hacking going on. None, zero, nada.

Just delete anything in your Private Messages that isn't yours and that should be solved. And, if you see a forum thread that you started originally and it's now under somebody else's name, post in the thread so we know who we're talking to. If you want, we'll lock the thread to prevent any further confusion and if you still need answers or perhaps are documenting some procedure just start another thread.

This should only happen to members who've registered, or in many cases re-registered, since Feb 26th. It might continue to happen until we reach the same user id number we had previously, which will take some time since we're about 80 members away....

Sorry about the confusion. Remember, we offer double your money back if your unsatisfied with our service.

Very Happy
D

OK, this shouldn't happen with any new accounts registering from this date forward. The user id numbers have been reset in a way to jump all the problem ones. If you find a post that was yours and now is not, or any other weirdness...feel free to report it to me with a link (I'm not going searching for it) if you would like the post or thread locked or removed.
