We'll be following the F site over to Yahoo hosting sometime within the next 3 weeks. The timing is completely up to Glenn's schedule and when he can find some free time. It should only take a few hours to move everything. After the move, it will take the internet a bit of time to resolve our name to the new address. Hopefully this won't take too much time.
More to come....... |

Thanks for the heads up Dave.
With Yahoo hosting, the 11f site might actually move like a web site should. |

Everything here will remain the same. Just the 'here' will change to 'there' and then 'there' will be 'here'.
The F site is already on Yahoo... |

In my experience, the F site continues to load slowly on initial opening but performs somewhat better once in the forums. And, it's more consistent now. I expect no change in the performance of our site... |

I am seeing the opposite on teh F site. Constant 'Page Not Found" on the F Site. Super sloooooooow loading of the forums and reply submissions. Also constant failures when trying to submit replies.
Are you guys not seeing the same issues over there that I am? Might be my internet service otherwise but this site never has any of those things happening so I am totally confused and getting rather annoyed every day.
I did check with Glenn but no answer yet and now the forum overthere is reporting a sql problem.
Sure hope those things don't come up on this site after the move.

There was a slight improvement at the F site when Glenn first moved it to Yahoo. It was hit and miss though, sometimes very snappy, sometimes slow. I mostly never get the page not found from here at home, or even on the road on my air card, but sometimes I get an SQL error from the server.
I don't know what the problem with the F site is, but after a couple of moves it most likely is not the hardware. The F site has much more traffic and a much larger database than we do. |

Yes, our many addresses will remain the same. However, it sometimes takes a bit before the internets (comedy indicated even if not successful) knows that the address now refers to a new place. IOW, before DNS services resolve to the new IP address.... |

No! Don't confuse this with Yahoo Groups. Yahoo provides hosting services and we'll be on a hosted server. |
