Just picked up a bike I've always wanted -- an 81 750k project for $400. I spent all day Sat. trying to find a forum for helpful advice and was stoked to find you guys (gals) - I thought (for a while) the only thing out there was for the sohc people!!

whew!

Thanks in advance for all the advice getting this hunk-o-metal back on the road by spring!

Hello AKRider and Welcome.

I have learned alot about these old bikes in the last 2 years and am right here in Anchorage. Nowhere near the level of experience of fasterspider but I sure don't mind meeting up and helping.

I also know some local resources who will work on older bikes for anything that is over your head or you don't have the tools for.

I sent you a PM and with my email address.

Dave

Thanks for all the offers of help!! Especially AlaskaGriz! This isn't my first project, but it is the first with four cylinders ..my last was a 69 Kawa**** H1 2-stroke triple - pretty far removed from DOHC 4-stroke, 4-cyl, yada yada yada. When I finally got that one going, I was scared to ride it due to the tediousness of the early Kaw electrical system - replacements were non-existent, etc... Glad to be back home with a Honda!

Smart man. I just need to figure out how to be here in the Summer and somewhere warmer in the Winter. I think it gets harder to put up with each year and I even do many winter sports.

One thing is for sure I have plenty of time to work on my bike. Twisted Evil

Yeah, I got tired of the smog, crowds, crime, gangs, and you name it -- in SoCal and decided to to move up here. The only thing I miss from California is desert riding with my two boys.

I considered taking the Be Em Dub out today, -- trying to find a way to get to the main road via 1/4 mile of ice skating rink - without killing myself Shocked
