Hey everybody. I'm new to the forum here, and fairly new to my totally stock 81 CB750K. This is my third bike, and my first carbed bike. I picked this bike up from Craigslist (gasp!) for $1200. It had just a hair over 18,000 on it, and I'm pretty sure it sat for the better part of 5 years.

I've done all the basic maintenance on this thing: Set valve lash, adjusting timing chains, new valve cover gasket, set timing, plugs, rebuilt and synched the carbs, front brakes and adjusted drum, cleaned and adjusted chain, and some serious cleaning.

This is the first bike I've ever done anything besides adjusting the chain, and it's been a great learning experience. I've been working on and building cars for years, and the simplicity of these bikes is really enjoyable.

I'm really torn as to whether to leave this bike stock (I mean, it's made it 35 years just like this) or do some basic changes like lower bars, bar end mirrors, a different exhaust, and maybe some powdercoated wheels and better brakes.

For the record, the sissy bar is GONE!!!

Either way, I absolutely love this bike, and I've put a few hundred miles on it in the last 2 weeks.

Welcome to the site DWade ... Smile

If you haven't read the following page , now is the time .

http://www.cb750c.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=80601#80601

If you run into problems with any of that , Please let us know . Thanks . Smile .

That bike is way too nice to 'changing' anything .
The pipes are rather unique as they are stock and in what seems to be great shape .
How many times have you heard someone say 'it's a 35 year old machine and completely original' ?
Not many , I'll bet .
