I have been searching for about 4 hours and have had no luck finding what I was looking for. I remember reading about a guy who got the CV carbs to work good w/o a box by drilling out the jets. He included a video and what drill bits he used. I'm not on here that often anymore and don't remember where I seen it.

Question

I don't think you 'seen it' on this site.

This is an anti pod site. You will probably not find what you are looking for here.

but I will say I met a guy who has been a motorcycle mechanic at one of our local shops for 30+ years who has a 900F with pods on it. He drilled like you are talking about to do it.

Over 3000 RPM's he said it runs like a monster. Completely incredible. Under 3000 RPM's it's complete trash and can barely survive at idle.

There are reasons why jet drilling isn't a great idea. A jet isn't just a hole in piece of brass. Rolling Eyes

It was here. I didn't want any sarcasm, just a little help. I was mainly looking for the drill bits that were used for a different project. BTW, for being a "Anti-pod" site there are sure a lot of people with pods on their bikes.

But , are they running stock carbs ?

We are anti pod on stock carbs . Other carbs may work fine with pods .

Has someone compiled a list of carbs that will work with the cb900c engine? Id like to swap mine out for something easily tuned for a short exhaust and pods, but don't have tons of $$ to blow

Please don't dig up old threads. It just confuses everybody. We prefer that you start a new one and then link to the old one if necessary.

There is no such list here. These motors use a different intake spacing than most others so your only choices are "real" carbs with adjustable spacing or cobble together some insulators for whatever carbs you're trying to fit.
