Any body think a complete electrical system from a 78 750 would be compatible with an 81-82 750 motor. i found a derelict complete 78 in friends backyard. any feedback would be appreciated.

They have two different part numbers, so they be different...
I probably have one for an 81 around here. Send me a pm
if interested... a couple bucks + shipping and it's yours.

The harnesses look quite a bit different. I would not think they would be compatible. And when you consider Grumpy's offer, why not go with what you know will work?

They are totally different bikes, with totally different features. There's no reason to think the wiring harnesses would be at all similar.
