Well hello everybody. I am hoping to find answers to what are surely going to be a lot of questions. I am helping a local guy try and fix a 1980 CB750K (a) he bought that has been, well...hacked up a bit. The wiring harness looks like a rats nest, engine spacers missing, frame supports have been hacked off, K&N pods, etc. It is difficult to work on a bike you have never touched before especially if you weren't the one who took it apart. I am no expert, but I have restored a few beauties.

Looking forward to hopefully gaining some knowledge and insight to this machine. Until then, if this forum is like any other I am on, people love pics.

My 74 CB750

Wife's 72 CB350

Daughter's 72 CB350

And of course what I do for fun when I am not wrenching on bikes.

Thanks. Updated profile and have downloaded/printed the wiring diagram. Every time I look at the bike I find more stuff wrong with it. Trying to convince the owner to ditch the pods, but every time I bring it up it seems like it falls on deaf ears. I bet once he starts trying to get the bike to run easily, properly, and smoothly he will come around to my way of thinking.

Looking at the diagram I noticed the bike does not have the fuse block. Simple enough to add, but annoying. House wiring used, single wires split into two for multiple runs, twisted together and covered in electrical tape. Not sure if the ignition switch is original or not since it only has two wires going to/from it. The key looks correct though.

The frame was powder coated, but it doesn't look like any of the powder coating was removed for the ground spots. In simple terms this bike is a hot mess.
